Interactive and Cognitive Training Systems

Video surveillance capabilities enable military personnel to conduct mixed reality and virtual training for warfighters. Sarnoff has developed a suite of technologies and a number of systems specifically for Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) training applications.

Our MOUT training technologies are aimed at providing a comprehensive set of mission rehearsal tools — improving the efficiency and effectiveness of MOUT training. The capabilities that Sarnoff offers provide increased situational awareness as well as performance evaluation metrics to be used in After-Action-Reviews (AAR). Our visualization tools allow a user to view not only video but also the tracks, poses and events of a training exercise, computed by the system and overlaid on a 3D model.

Sarnoff’s tools collect actionable data that can be applied to several applications. By combining symbolic representation of an exercise with real video, training instructors are able to track movement and detect errors made during the exercise. It also allows them to then provide soldiers with informative and interactive AAR visualization environments. The data obtained using this technology also facilitates the computation of useful metrics for evaluating future performance
